First let me give a shout out to my man Brett Farve who has
proved even me wrong about his old ass returning to the game again this year.
He continues to play well enough to win, and at the end of the day that is a
lot more than most teams can say.
Now if I
could only decide on my offering for Turkey Day. Most years I’ve been able to
show up 30 minutes before dinner and just eat, but this year I was asked to
bring something. This doesn’t bother me in the least because I LOVE to cook.
The issue comes in that when trying
to coordinate with a family of 5 sisters, and their parents, and their
husbands, and their children, being the single, single one sometimes isn’t the
easy place to be. Right now I’m looking at appetizers and deserts and am
waiting on the final commit list from the rest of the family to see where I can
fit in.
Spending Thanksgiving with this family every year gives me the sense of big family that my only child life has never afforded. They are funny, and noisy and nosey and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I loved every minute of it. It is also so much fun to see all the kids. Every one of them is growing so very fast and will be grown before you know it.
Yes, no matter what it is I end up brining to dinner. It really is the family time that I am thankful for, the food just happens to be a bonus.
